As the oldest drama school in the UK, the tutors at LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) know a thing or two about training actors, directors and technicians. Join them for a fascinating introduction to stage combat exploring the use of weaponry in theatre, the development of the sword and the approach to stage combat at the Academy. LAMDA students will also be on hand to demonstrate their hair-raising skills with a variety of weapons.
A large film tent will be in situ run by Lara Agnew, documentary maker and visiting tutor at NFTS (National film school). This multi-dimensional project will include crowd participation creating a constant live feed and is set to provide film entertainment for all ages.
A large attraction of the weekend will be the search for The New Young Face of Essex with a Celebrity Judge joining the panel in the final. We will be collaborating with local and London fashion schools as we want our models to wear innovative clothes designed by the up and coming generation of designers alongside the more established names in the business. Our prefered styles and ideas will be showcasing brake through designs with themes including recycling and reinventing.
